I think it’s beautiful, actually. A real tribute, lovingly rendered in material more precious and close to us than marble or granite. The nudity speaks to His human side, His vulnerability. A real work of religious art in a time not given to such statements.
I think the Church, as usual, needs to think about this on a deeper level.
But then I am just an ex-Catholic atheist. And a chocolate lover.
